So we celebrated Clark's birthday in Washington, and we had plans to celebrate his birthday with my parents the following weekend, so I wasn't really thinking we would do much of anything on his actual birthday. But Tanner had a different idea and came home from work wondering what happened to the party. I felt sufficiently guilty enough to run to the store and pick up some pizza and a little ice cream cake for the three of us to enjoy. I also couldn't resist the Elmo balloon I saw near the checkout stand.
We had a great time, and Clark was really good at blowing out his candles! When he first saw them lit up he said "Mom, Hot!" like the cake was on fire or something, so I think he felt a great incentive to blow it out so it didn't ruin his dessert. He is also getting the whole opening presents thing down to an art form, although we do have to rush him along since he likes to take his time unwrapping his gifts on tiny little tear at a time. We got him some play-doh and some squishy balls to throw around (that won't destroy anything or hurt anyone). We had a great time playing with his new toys!
